recipes for children
Noodles are not only popular with the little ones, they are also quick to cook. Our pasta sauce recipes for children show you which sauces you can use to make pasta even more tasty for your child.
All pasta sauces not only go well with pasta, but can also be served with potatoes, mashed potatoes or rice. Mashed potatoes are suitable for children from the start of complementary feeding, while noodles or rice, if they are not mashed, only make sense for older babies who accept small pieces in their food.
The right pasta – my tip:
Soup ingredients such as shell, star or letter noodles are best suited as the first noodles because they are so nice and small. Even small children who want to eat themselves make the least mess with it. All sauces are also suitable for babies at risk of allergies and can be frozen in portions.
It is best to use a plastic bib, as the stains will hardly come out of a cloth bib!
Ingredients for about three to four baby portions:
100 grams (g) beetroot
200 g parsley roots
Preparation: Wash, peel and dice the beetroot and parsley. In a small saucepan, simmer in a little water for about 15 minutes until the vegetables are soft. Drain and reserve cooking liquid. Cook in a steamer or cook covered in 5 tablespoons of water for 5 minutes until soft, then drain. Puree all the ingredients with about 150 milliliters (ml) of cooking liquid (or more depending on the sauce consistency you want) in a blender.
My tip if you are preparing a sauce for your child: Organic ingredients are generally recommended for baby and toddler food.
